  • Shinsegae Pursues Acquisition of Yeosu Residential Lodging Property: Shinsegae Group has established a project REIT to acquire the 427-key residential lodging property Ramada Plaza by Wyndham Yeosu in Dolsan-eup, Yeosu, South Jeolla Province. Under the structure, Shinsegae Property Investment Management serves as the asset management company (AMC), while Josun Hotels & Resorts participates as an investor and will also take over operations after the acquisition. As the property was developed in 2020 on a for-sale basis via a land trust and is a strata-titled building whose ownership is divided by individual guestroom, Josun Hotels & Resorts plans to acquire each guestroom and its land rights separately and is considering a brand conversion through renovation.
  • Cheonghwi Building, Home to Sotetsu Fresa Inn, Sold in Myeongdong: Cheonghwi Building, a hotel-and-retail mixed-use property in the heart of Seoul’s Myeongdong, has been sold for an undisclosed sum. Spanning approximately 5,944 sqm of gross floor area, its upper floors house the 152-key Sotetsu Fresa Inn Seoul Myeong-dong under a long-term lease, while the lower floors comprise retail space occupied mainly by Korean cosmetics brands. Located within a five-minute walk of both Myeongdong Station and Euljiro 1-ga Station, the property offers strong access to central Seoul and benefits from rising international visitor traffic and Myeongdong’s solid retail demand.
APAC
  • NoMad to Open First Hotel in Singapore: Hilton’s lifestyle brand NoMad will debut its first property in the Asia-Pacific region in Singapore. NoMad Hilton Singapore, developed in partnership with UOL through the redevelopment of the former Faber House on Orchard Road, sits adjacent to the city’s central business district. Designed by WOHA with interiors by Kevin Klein Design, the 10,225-sqm property features a 14-story cascading waterfall and a vertical facade. Its 173 guestrooms and suites are arranged across 12 floors, including 25 suites.
  • JDA Collective Acquires Headlands Hotel in Australia: Australian hospitality group JDA Collective has acquired the Headlands Hotel in Austinmer, on the New South Wales South Coast, from developer The Stevens Group for AUD 44 million. Opened in 2016 following its redevelopment, the property occupies an approximately 2,550-sqm clifftop site overlooking the Pacific Ocean and comprises a two-story hotel with 60 serviced apartments. It also features multiple bars and dining venues, a gaming room with 14 electronic gaming machines, conference facilities and underground parking.
Americas
  • Apple Hospitality REIT to Develop and Acquire New Hotels: US hotel REIT Apple Hospitality REIT has signed agreements for a total of USD 209.2 million in new hotel development and acquisition in Anchorage, Alaska, and Las Vegas, Nevada. In Anchorage, it will develop a 160-key AC Hotel for USD 65.5 million, with completion targeted for the fourth quarter of 2027. In Las Vegas, it plans to develop a 237-key AC Hotel and a 160-key Residence Inn on a site adjacent to its existing SpringHill Suites, for a total expected purchase price of USD 143.7 million and completion targeted for the second quarter of 2028.
  • Jersey City Hyatt Regency CMBS Loan Sent to Special Servicing: A USD 100 million CMBS loan secured by the Hyatt Regency in Jersey City, New Jersey, has been transferred to special servicing. The loan, which forms part of the CGCMT 2016-P5, 2016-P6 and CMBX.10 deals, is expected to default after the borrower stated it would be unable to repay ahead of the October 2026 maturity. Taconic Capital and HEI Hotels & Resorts acquired the hotel from Veris Residential and Hyatt in December 2022 for USD 117 million, and Morningstar expects a loan extension or forbearance as the resolution.
Europe
  • Starboard and LaSalle Acquire Seven Accor Hotels in the UK: British owner-operator Starboard Hotels, together with US investment manager LaSalle, has acquired seven Accor-branded hotels in the UK from Ares Management and pan-European hotel investor and operator EQ Group. The hotels are located in London, Birmingham, Luton, Sheffield and Southampton and operate under the Novotel and Ibis brands. Starboard will operate the hotels under their existing Accor franchise agreements, bringing the number of Accor hotels it operates to 15.
  • GS Bacares Iberia Acquires Nômade Temple Madrid: GS Bacares Iberia, the hotel investment and operating arm of Luxembourg-based investment fund Nômade Partners, has acquired the five-star, 93-key Nômade Temple Madrid in Spain from Spanish REIT Hotei Properties Group SOCIMI for EUR 105 million. Hotei acquired the property in 2024 for EUR 70 million and reopened it under the Nômade brand in March 2026. GS Bacares Iberia plans to assume the existing lease and continue operating the hotel under the Nômade brand.
