Lobin Co. officially released the Lodging Market Korea 2024 report package on June 2, 2024, providing a comprehensive analysis of the lodging market of Korea. The package consists of 18 individual reports, including one for the nation as a whole and one for each of the 17 metro-markets. It offers in-depth analysis of supply, demand, and revenue trends across various types of lodging establishments – such as hotels, resort condos, yeogwans, residential lodgings, rural minbaks, and urban minbaks – while also identifying opportunities and threats specific to each establishment type.
E.K. Ham, CEO of Lobin Co., stated, “Although domestic travelers who prefer motels and pensions make up the majority of demand in the lodging market of Korea, most media outlets focus on foreign visitors and hotel performance. This has led to a distorted perception of the lodging market. We hope the Lodging Market Korea 2024 report package helps address this issue.”
Since January 2023, Lobin Co. has been building a database of Korean lodging establishments to provide market-wide visibility in an increasingly competitive environment where boundaries between establishment types are blurring. After completing the 2024 data update in April 2025, the company took two months of preparation and officially released the report package. The package is available for free on the Lobin Co. website.
In addition, Lobin Co. is finalizing the English version of the report package and preparing to launch the ‘Lodging Data Dashboard’. This dashboard will visually present the extensive data underlying the Lodging Market Korea 2024 reports, covering a timespan from 2005 to 2024.
