  • Hotel The Botanic Sewoon Myeongdong Secures KRW 95.5 Billion Refinancing: Dblock Partners refinanced existing debt by raising KRW 95.5 billion through an SPC in late February for “Hotel The Botanic Sewoon Myeongdong,” located in the Sewoon District, Jung-gu, Seoul. The maturity has been extended to February 27, 2028, effectively securing about two additional years. Following construction commencement in August 2021 and completion in September 2024, resolving remaining unsold inventory has been identified as the key task. The contractor, Daewoo Engineering & Construction, is also considering discounted sales.
  • KH Group Officially Opens Jeju Blue One Casino: KH Group announced that it officially commenced operations of Jeju Blue One Casino (formerly Sun Hotel Casino) following an opening ceremony on March 20. The company has completed workforce succession and organizational integration, and outlined plans to develop an integrated resort model combining casino, lodging, tourism, and content, leveraging assets such as Alpensia Resort in Pyeongchang, Jeju properties, and CSA Cosmic.

  • SC Capital Founder Acquires Fusion Hotel Group: Suchad Chiaranussati, founder of SC Capital Partners, has acquired Fusion Hotel Group, a Ho Chi Minh City-based wellness-focused hotel operator. Founded in 2008, Fusion currently operates 18 properties with approximately 3,000 keys across Vietnam and Thailand. The acquisition is intended to accelerate expansion across Asia by leveraging the combined platforms of HMJ, Topotels, and SC Capital.
  • GIC Considers Sale of Pacific Century Place Marunouchi in Tokyo: GIC is reportedly considering the sale of the office portion of Pacific Century Place Marunouchi, located in central Tokyo. The asset includes floors 8 through 31, and GIC originally acquired it in 2014 from a PAG affiliate for approximately JPY 180 billion. JLL and Mizuho Trust Bank have been appointed as advisors. The building also houses the Four Seasons Hotel Marunouchi Tokyo.

  • Minor Hotels to Launch First Wolseley Hotel in New York: Minor Hotels plans to open the 76-key Wolseley Hotel New York in Midtown Manhattan in early 2027. The project marks the U.S. debut of London’s The Wolseley restaurant and bar brand, repurposing a historic clubhouse built in 1905. The hotel will feature an all-day dining restaurant, an underground speakeasy, and a wellness center.
  • Savills to Acquire Eastdil Secured: Savills announced on March 12 that it has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire 100% of Eastdil Secured, a global real estate investment bank, at an enterprise value of USD 1.1125 billion. Eastdil will maintain its headquarters in New York, Santa Monica, and London, with Roy March as Executive Chairman and Michael Van Konynenburg as CEO. Savills expects the transaction to elevate its position to the world’s second-largest advisor in large-scale commercial real estate transactions.
Europe
  • Omnam Opens The Lake Como EDITION: Omnam Group announced the opening of The Lake Como EDITION, a luxury hotel located on the western shore of Lake Como, Italy, on March 12. The project redevelops the former Hotel Britannia Excelsior, acquired by Bain Capital and Omnam in late 2021, and is operated under Marriott’s EDITION brand. The property features 148 rooms, four F&B outlets, a spa and fitness center, and a large floating pool.
  • Hyatt Launches Park Hyatt Residences in London: Park Hyatt plans to introduce a 103-unit branded residence at the top of Park Hyatt London River Thames in Nine Elms, London, later this year. Knightcrest is leading the sales, with architecture by KPF and interiors by Christian Bense. The project targets global demand by combining hotel-level services with long-term residential value.
