  • Renewed Sale Process for Former Sheraton D-Cube City: Singapore-based Keppel Asset Management has re-launched the sale process for D-Cube City Office 2 in Sindorim, Seoul, formerly operated as the Sheraton D-Cube City Hotel. Savills Korea and Samjong KPMG have been appointed as joint advisors, marking the revival of a deal that was previously shelved due to limited buyer interest.

  • Hotel Shilla to Make First Shilla Monogram Entry into China with Xi’an Opening: Hotel Shilla announced that it will officially open Shilla Monogram Xi’an, a 264-room property, on February 2, marking the first entry of its upper-upscale lifestyle brand Shilla Monogram into China. Following Danang and Gangneung, this will be the brand’s third Monogram property and is positioned as a strategic foothold for expansion into the Greater China market.
  • Minor Hotels Launches NH Hua Hin in Thailand: Minor Hotels will assume operations of NH Hua Hin in Thailand starting January 16, introducing a 152-room property. Featuring leisure-oriented amenities such as guest rooms, a kids’ club, and a rooftop infinity pool, the opening signals the continued expansion of the NH brand into resort destinations.
  • Phased Opening of The Royal Garden Kowloon East in Hong Kong: The Royal Garden Kowloon East, located in Tseung Kwan O, Hong Kong, will be rolled out in three phases in 2026. Guest rooms will open in January, followed by villas and family facilities in March, with a grand opening scheduled for July. The phased approach is viewed as a risk-managed launch strategy through gradual ramp-up.

  • Kasa and Mint House Merge in All-Equity Transaction: Apartment-style lodging operator Kasa announced a strategic merger with Mint House. Structured as an all-equity transaction with no cash outlay, the deal will see many Mint House assets rebranded and operated as Mint House by Kasa, supporting scale expansion across major high-growth U.S. markets.
  • Receivership Sale of Courtyard by Marriott Oakland Airport: The 156-room Courtyard by Marriott Oakland Airport, which had been under receivership, was reportedly sold for USD 12.5 million. The transaction reflects a significant discount to the prior-year valuation and is interpreted as a signal that pricing pressure on local hotel assets remains ongoing.
Europe
  • London Hotel Deals Exceed USD 1 Billion in First Week of the Year: Analysts report that major hotel transactions in London totaled more than USD 1 billion during the first week of the new year. Notable examples include RIU’s acquisition of the 494-room The Westminster for GBP 290 million and the sale of the 732-room St. Giles London Hotel for GBP 220 million.
  • Greek Operator Mitsis Launches New Brand, Canvas by Mitsis: Greece-based hospitality group Mitsis unveiled its new brand, Canvas by Mitsis. Centered on a simple, warm, and locally driven guest experience, the brand launch is seen as a response to portfolio diversification needs and growing rebranding demand.
