  • Hanwha Accelerates ANTO Membership Sales: Hanwha Hotels & Resorts has begun selling memberships for ANTO, the luxury resort it recently acquired on Bukhansan. Of the 334 rooms, 224 will be operated exclusively for members. Hanwha plans to raise the current sales rate from 24% to 60%, targeting high-end leisure demand and aiming for annual revenue of about KRW 200 billion.
  • Sono Calm Gyeongju Reopens After Renewal: Sono International has reopened Sono Calm Gyeongju on September 26 after a full renovation that cost approximately KRW 170 billion. With this renewal, the resort has strengthened its competitiveness as a premium property, pursuing an upscale strategy while capturing regional tourism demand.

  • IHG to Launch First Regent in Japan: IHG announced plans to open its first Regent Resort in Karuizawa, Nagano Prefecture, in 2028. Designed as a luxury retreat featuring hot springs and wellness facilities, the property will cater to Japan’s growing high-end leisure demand while marking a milestone in IHG’s global luxury portfolio expansion.
  • Marriott to Open First AC Hotel in Mongolia: Marriott has signed an agreement to debut its first AC Hotel in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia. Known for its sleek European-inspired design and modern sensibility, the brand will target both business and leisure travelers. The deal represents a key step in expanding Marriott’s brand portfolio in Mongolia.

  • KSL Acquires Westin Hilton Head: KSL Capital has acquired the Westin Hilton Head Resort & Spa in Hilton Head Island, South Carolina. While financial terms were not disclosed, the resort is considered a prime repositioning opportunity with strong potential for revenue enhancement, underscoring KSL’s ongoing expansion in resort investments.
  • Series by Marriott Launches in the U.S.: Marriott has officially launched a new collection brand, Series by Marriott, in the United States. The first project converted five FOUND Hotels under the new brand. With flexible partnership models offering tailored support for independent operators, Marriott aims to grow its market share, reinforcing its broader collection brand strategy.
Europe
  • Conrad Hamburg Opens: Hilton has opened the Conrad Hamburg, a 283-room luxury hotel that marks the Conrad brand’s debut in Germany. The historic Levantehaus building has been remodeled into a high-end property, delivering premium services aimed at guests who value art and cultural experiences.
  • Hoxton Southwark Transaction: Gibraltar-based Yellow Tree has acquired the four-star Hoxton Southwark in London from Norlake Hospitality for around GBP 150 million. The 192-room hotel, located between Waterloo Station and the Tate Modern, features two restaurants, a bar, six meeting rooms, and five floors of coworking space.

※ In Korea, general & residential accommodations are included while rural & urban minbaks are excluded. Comparable countries are selected based upon availability of lodging GDP statistics for all types of accommodations.
